Mr John Tighe is a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon working at the internationally renowned unit at the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead since 2002. His main subspecialty interest has been in the surgical management of head and neck cancer. In recent years he has taken up more of a teaching role for junior surgeons in all aspects of oral surgery and skin cancers. During his time at QVH he completed a 7-year stint as Director of head, neck, and eye services.
Mr Tighe has worked at the Cherry Trees practice since 2001 undertaking a weekly session carrying out the oral surgical needs of the practice. As well as undertaking the more routine extractions and removal of impacted teeth he has a special interest in the placement of dental implants. Mr Tighe works closely with his restorative colleagues Dr Mark Byrne and Dr Vipul Patel in the implant rehabilitation of our own patients and in patients referred in from local practices.
Mr Tighe is a keen runner and tries to get out most days around the local lanes and trails of the Ashdown Forest. He has run over 100 half marathons and dozens of full marathons all over the world.
